Ian Bradshaw

Director and Adviser
With over 30 years of experience in financial services and financial planning, I have been a valued member of McDonald Associates since 2000.

I specialise in providing expert advice and administration for SSAS and SIPP pension schemes, as well as managing investment portfolios for private clients. My focus is on delivering tailored financial solutions and building long-term relationships based on trust, expertise, and personal service.

Outside of work, I enjoy football, attending live music events and discovering new places to eat.

Dan Law

Director & Chartered Financial Planner

I’ve been part of McDonald Associates for over 20 years, having joined the firm at the age of 18 while studying at university. What began as a part-time role has grown into a career that I genuinely enjoy, helping individuals, families and business owners make confident financial decisions and achieve their long-term goals.

Having spent my entire career at McDonald Associates, I’ve had the opportunity to work in virtually every area of the business. Starting in junior roles, from filing and opening post, I’ve progressed through the company to become a Director. This journey has given me a deep understanding of the business, and today I combine my role as a Chartered Financial Planner with responsibility for the firm’s commercial management, day-to-day operations and supporting the development of our team.

As a Chartered Financial Planner, I specialise in investment and retirement planning, with particular expertise in pensions, including SIPPs and SSASs. I work closely with clients at every stage of their financial journey, from building and protecting wealth to creating sustainable retirement income strategies. I also have extensive experience advising individuals and business owners on using pension arrangements to acquire and hold commercial property.

Outside of work, life revolves around my family. With two young children, much of my spare time is spent coaching or supporting from the sidelines at football, cricket and cheerleading. Living on the doorstep of the Peak District, I enjoy making the most of the outdoors whenever I can.

Football has always been a big part of my life. At weekends you’ll usually find me coaching my son’s team or, when time allows, supporting Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Following Wednesday has certainly taught me patience, resilience and the importance of taking the long-term view – qualities that aren’t a bad fit for financial planning either.

Julie Hammadi

Office Manager
I've been with McDonald Associates since the company was established in 1996. I joined as Secretary to the Managing Director before moving into an administration role. As the business has grown over the years, my responsibilities have grown with it and I now work as Office Manager.

With over 20 years' experience supporting the administration of group protection schemes, my role now encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across the business. This includes supporting our advisers, overseeing client administration, preparing FCA reports and managing pension payrolls and client reporting.

As Office Manager, I am responsible for the smooth running of the office, from overseeing day-to-day operations to supporting my colleagues wherever needed. I enjoy being part of a close-knit team and take pride in helping to create an organised, efficient and positive working environment.

Outside work, I enjoy travelling with my husband whenever we have the opportunity. At home, I love to relax with a good book, sewing or embroidery and I enjoy cooking and experimenting with recipes from different cuisines. I'm at my happiest when I can hear the sea.

Sarah Reaney

Book-keeper / Accounts Manager
Most of my career, spanning over 25 years, has been in property management. I also spent 4 years running my own business in the antiques and collectables trade.

At McDonald Associates, I am responsible for managing the firm's accounts, with duties ranging from invoicing and payroll to PAYE and financial administration. It's a varied role that I thoroughly enjoy.

Outside of work, I serve as a County Councillor for Derbyshire County Council. Being elected to represent my constituents is one of my proudest achievements and I feel privileged to have earned their trust. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Creswell Crags, combining my passion for history and heritage with supporting this remarkable local attraction.

I am married to Robert and we have one son. I am also an author and poet, having published my first book and I am currently writing my second—a children's book—which I hope to complete by the end of the year.

When I'm not working or writing, you'll often find me in the garden growing my own fruit and vegetables. I'm particularly proud of my homemade raspberry jam!

Theresa Wigfield

Group Occupational Pension Schemes Manager
With nearly 40 years’ experience in the pensions industry, I have developed extensive expertise in Defined Benefit (DB) Pension Schemes. I began my career as an Administrator with the Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme and have since built a broad range of specialist knowledge, most recently focusing on DB pension scheme wind-ups, GMP reconciliation, and equalisation projects.

Prior to joining McDonald’s more than 19 years ago, I held a variety of roles including Assistant Pensions Manager, Pensions Technical Trainer, where I delivered training across UK offices, and Operational Implementation Team Leader. These positions provided a strong foundation in both pensions administration and operational leadership.

Alongside my DB pension scheme responsibilities, I have specialised in the administration of Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS), HMRC and The Pensions Regulator annual returns and scheme maintenance, Relief at Source claims, tax returns, HMRC event reporting, and deed drafting. This breadth of experience enables me to manage a diverse portfolio of responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and service excellence.

With a varied and evolving workload, my goal is always to deliver the highest level of service while remaining organised, adaptable and responsive within an ever-changing pensions landscape.

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active through fell walking, strength training and Pilates. For relaxation, I turn to textile art and crocheting but nothing beats that early morning walk with our dog, Odie.

James Gregg

Senior Pensions Administrator
I joined the Company in 2007 as a Pension Administrator. I am responsible for the day-to-day administration of our SSAS and SIPP clients. My role involves managing a wide range of pension scheme activities, including rent invoicing, VAT returns, HMRC annual returns, Pension Regulator submissions, client meetings and annual reviews, benefit calculations, SAGE payroll processing and online banking transactions. I work closely with the Directors supporting clients and helping to ensure the efficient administration of their pension arrangements.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my border collie, Meg and socialising with family and friends. As a lifelong Sheffield United supporter, you'll often find me cheering on the Blades from the stands. I also enjoy cooking, with chicken gyros currently topping my list of favourite dishes and I love travelling—particularly to the beautiful Greek islands whenever I get the chance.

Sharon Barker

Pensions Administrator
I began my career with the original McDonald family straight from college at the age of 16 and in 1996 I was involved in helping establish McDonald Associates Ltd.

Throughout my career, I have held a variety of administrative roles, ranging from database implementation and management to pension payroll administration.

My current responsibilities include online banking, daily IO system operations, 5th April processing, client valuations and the administration of SASS, SIPP, life assurance and pension schemes.

I am known for my positive sense of humour and enjoy bringing a light-hearted approach to the workplace when appropriate. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my new grandson, reading, crafting and pursuing my interest in self-taught crochet.

Becky Jepson

I joined McDonald Associates in the spring of 1997 as an Administrative Assistant and have been providing dedicated support to the team ever since. Over the years, I've gained extensive knowledge of the business and have enjoyed being part of its continued growth and success.

My role encompasses a wide range of administrative responsibilities, including the daily use of the IO system, online banking, preparing 5th April valuations and producing investment reports for SSAS, SIPP and individual clients. I take pride in delivering accurate and efficient support, helping both our advisers and clients while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

Having been with McDonald Associates for many years, I value being part of a close-knit and supportive team. I enjoy the variety my role brings and the opportunity to contribute to the high level of service we provide to our clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and making the most of holidays whenever I get the opportunity.
